  • CROSSFIT COACH

A big part of Steven’s life growing up was the outdoors and being active outdoors. This led to pursuing an education in outdoor sports and adventure, guiding, and teaching. In university he took an Adventure Guide diploma with an Interdisciplinary degree. This helped develop his appreciation for fitness and the realization of how crucial it is for people to be active.

Steven has been teaching and guiding since 2011, with his main area of focus being paddling and cross-country skiing. Functional fitness became a part of Steven’s life during university, and it has been a huge part ever since. He has benefited greatly from training and the exploration of physical expression and is passionate to share that with others. Steven has developed his coaching and teaching to include a breadth of fitness pedagogy and is always learning and improving.

Steven genuinely believes in challenging oneself and the pursuit of living a large life. He promotes simple lifestyle guidelines, but just because they are simple does not mean they are easy. Steven wants to help people become autonomous, free movers, increasing individual’s capabilities to take control of their health and well being and move them towards vitality.

  • ELEVATE PERFORMANCE COACH

Vivian was introduced to CrossFit by a friend and initially started with the goal of becoming stronger competitor in another sport. Over time, she found that she really enjoyed all the different aspects of CrossFit and decided to dedicate more time to training and pursue it as her main sport. She has always enjoyed doing a variety of sports and activities, so to be able to compile that into one sport was something that she found fascinating. Something that she loves about CrossFit is that there is never a shortage of things to work on, it keeps the day to day work fun and exciting. She is very grateful that she found CrossFit; besides the fact that it is a sport that she enjoys very much, it has also taught her how to be a healthy and fit human being in general.

  • CROSSFIT COACH

Maddison started CrossFit because she was missing out on the benefits from physical activity that she received from participating in multiple sports in high school and she needed something to bridge the gap.

The challenge of not being able to do any of the movements RX is what kept her competitive spirit coming back, along with the people and the community.

CrossFit essentially changed her life as she grew from a member, doing 2-3 classes a week, to someone wanting to pursue it competitively. It’s given her the opportunity to make lifelong friends, compete and travel to different countries, and to show herself she is capable of far more than she ever would have imagined. Her favorite part about CrossFit is the never ending push to reach her potential.

Maddison is looking forward to being a part of Bedrock’s members' journey as they also push their limits and show themselves what they are capable of!

  • OWNER & HEAD COACH

A sense of community and accountability is what drew Amanda to CrossFit over other types of fitness programs. She spent her youth and high school years playing as many sports as possible and has always been keen on staying active. As a former runner, boot camp instructor, and adventure guide, she felt a connection with something that kept her challenged every day. After training for 6 months, she knew it was something she wanted to pursue further. Amanda’s favourite part of coaching is helping people achieve day to day milestones throughout their training and being in an atmosphere of like-minded people.

“the coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and make sure the workout is scaled appropriately as I strengthen my core and get my cardio back. They are always keen to spend time with me to make sure I’m both comfortable with the movement and that my body is able to do the movement properly before getting into the workout.”
